And so it begins...

I have received my official invitation from the Peace Corps (and accepted it). I will leaving the 7th of February for a 2 day orientation, then I'm off to Zambia. I will be working as a Forestry Extension Agent in their L.I.F.E. Project- Linking Income, Food and the Environment. This project is a mixture of sustainable farming, income generation projects and environmental education.

As for what language I will be learning or where exactly I will be after training, I don't know yet. Those decisions will be made after I arrive in Zambia. Although the official language of Zambia is English, I will learn one of the several native languages depending on the region I will be sent to work in.

I'm happy to answer any questions, as I will undoubtedly forget thing in my posts. Plus I will love hearing from everyone. It all just seems a little surreal at the moment but I am very excited for this new adventure!
